Single-shot rifles are *so* 1940s, man.

And I agree that Ms. Julia Childs would not approve of Triscuits.

Oh, and I beat Doug. Woot FP.

/y"I BOW TO NO ONE!"

i just had a 2 hour argument with my boss over the idea that gender and sex are different, and that i believe more and more every day that "gender" doesn't even exist.

also, i hate the dictionary and how it is wrong.

and, since you can get college credit for it, ebonics is a language, therefore english not only can change, but can be incorrect (or else it would need no reason to change).

on another note, why is it that gyms confuse me so completely, but swimming pools make perfect sense? i'm not particularly good at swimming; and i'm pretty sure that if 14 year old white girls can figure out how to use the machines and what machines to use, then there must be something wrong with me if i can't do the same.

ah well, thank goodness for the huff so i can just go back to swimming every day.

Sorry Gumby, but we have to evaluate what we mean by 'single-shot'. Are we talking about an old schol bolt action w/o clip? Are we talking muskets or 'black-powder' rifles? Personally, I'd take an M-1 Garand over any of your new fangled army equipment. Heavy (for clubbing), durable, accurate, and reliable. Those are what a gun needs. Suppression fire is great, but autos are meant to scare people with all of the loud noises. M-1's are for making people dead. This is what DoD teaches us, and we must recognize.

no, cbrodt, what we learn is that dod sux and cs doesn't. and the only weapons in which you need to be interested are b13 (deagle), b21 (pumpshotty) b31 (mac10), b32 (tmp), b33 (mp5), b41 (ak), b43 (colt), b83 (fb), b84 (nade), and if you're lucky enough to be a t, then the bomb. and if you're extra lucky, then you're playing on a server that is still in beta 4 so you can set us up the bomb wherever you damn well please.

for straight jacking, nothing compairs to the good old ak headshots from across the map. or bunnyhopping your way up to a group of no less than 5, while blasting your pumpshotty. let us not forget my personal favorite of buying a deagle the first round w/ no ammo, then tking 7 of your people and then taking all their starting guns n ammo, then proceeding to tk the rest of them and then switch servers.

of course, my most effective weapon was my 1337 shit talking skillz, and that you're a noob.

god i miss cs... BIL1337 HELP ME!

Comrade Brodt;

I've known more than a couple infantry guys in my day, and I've yet to meet one that would trade their M4 with holographic, infrared, and laser sighting systems, barrel railing system, and semi & auto options for anything else- at least for urban combat.

That said, the M1 bolt-action with modified barrel (for addition of a good scope) is still probably the weapon of choice for close to mid range sniper combat. But then, very little sniper combat is close range, and for long range nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, compares to the new .50 caliber rifle.

And p23570- the only reason those weapons seem so great is that CS never had anything with a holographic sight. A buddy let me try quick draw/aim drills with his- that thing is AMAZING. No sight picture, no nose-to-charging-handle, no eye fatigue- just a pair of crosshairs, that are always right, every single time.

More over, what I said is specific to urban combat- you would be right, my old friend, if you were talking open plains of reasonably forested combat (anything fully auto is the rule in the jungle where patrols come into contact damn nearly right on top of each other). So when we go to war with Texas, I'll eat my words.

Thanks for the opportunity to educate you, and thanks in advance for the lengthy rebuttal-

The most you will get me to concede is that the M-1 may not be the best close range weapon; I don't care about your fancy electronicary with the M-4. You know what electronics means to me? Something that breaks when Charlie starts laying down suppressing fire on you. Fuck electronics on guns.

I might say that the M-14 is an improvement over the M-1, since I believe it has a full-auto option. But it also uses weak sauce NATO rounds (like I assume the M-4 and know the M-16 does). Nothing you hit once with a .50 cal M-1 at 50 yards that gonna get up again.

Goddamn tell you what!

what's funny to me is, neither of you have been able to come up with the answer to teh p23570's assertion of your noobishness. that seems to be the only thing that really matters in warfare (or anything for that matter). if you can fuck with somebody's mind so much that they can't use your fancy m-4 or your pretentious m-1 then they can't really do anything to you.

i am entirely against ALL of teh guns by the way. macgyver needs no gun to exploit your noobishness.

people that use guns have weaknesses, people that don't... well, i won't go that far.

last night was a very good night

cbrodt and i discovered a couple of tragedies that i have recently fixed. i now own xii and dirge of cerberus! after i get to the final boss in ix, i shall start one THEN i shall play they other.

on another note, from my point of view THEN and THAN are very similar words used in similar ways. then is used in a sequential situation, than is used in an "either/or" situation. just thought i'd throw that out there...

we also found something that gumby and bil1337 may enjoy for their (insert winter holiday here) gift.

i still can't understand my teacher at all. i tried to have a conversation with him after class last night, but that failed miserably. he is as inept at listening as he is at speaking, or teaching math for that matter. what is so discouraging about this are two fold: 1st HE IS FROM AMERICA AND SPEAKS PERFECT ENGLISH; 2nd other people in the class are able to understand him and are understanding the material as he "teaches" in class.

the only solace i found from this is that i have found a few others in the class that are having the same problems with the teacher.
