The Quakers were masters of siege warfare
Four birthdays in the upcoming weeks: Pa, sister, Nathan and Denise. I've got the present situation pretty well solidified. The only questions remaining are in the execution. What am I getting Neisy? If Nathan doesn't call me back, the world may never know.
I had never bought clothing at a grocery store until yesterday. Just an observation.
This weekend was a hoot. CBrodt and I discovered that apparently Goldsby, Oklahoma is the hip new place to be, whether for making hand-print turkeys or being gruff with yongsters that don't know their place. My thanks to Sammee, Stormy, and Stompy for hosting quite the entertaining bash, and to the Katheryn that is K-Dizzle for being addicted to chocolate at 3 a.m. with me.
Early afternoon Saturday after such a good time is not when I would generally want to be hefting an antique, hand-carved bed weighing something like 15,000 pounds up a rickety flight of stairs, but after borrowing Chas Brodt's the elder's seemingly unnecessarily large truck yet again and wandering over to Patrick's dad's surely unnecessarily large home, another round of Boy Scout knot tying kept another round of furniture well snug in the bed of the truck. Getting it up the stairs was a feat in itself, and it has been decided that if Patrick ever moves, the bed will be staying where it is. Simone (Patrick's adorable new kitten) showed that she agreed with our exhaustion by laying on the couch between CB and me.
Victory to Brodt, though, for coming up with a very witty retort to my heckling:
The OC is lame. Long live the QC! Questionable Content is the best comic I've read in months. It's hilarious in its turns of phrase, and has enough indie references to keep me up with the times for at least another 3 hours. How could you not fall head over heels for a comic that references both Vonnegut and non-Euclidean geometry? I haven't heard stuff this funny, smart, and risque since I started reading Diesel Sweeties.
A combination of Questionable Content and a late-night chat with Brodt and Jessica round the Denny's table brought me to listen to The Arcade Fire, which I am really enjoying. But alas, I see as I sit in my "junior executive semi-private suite" that amongst the squinty-eyed comic reading of yestereve, it appears that I uploaded the wrong album to my server space, so I have no such goodness filling my ears. Anger!
Wake me up when September ends.

Me: (Some brilliant reference to a prior insult)
Me: Echoes from the past!
Chris: @echo off.

This is the first comment that I will give on a blog, while getting paid.
You love QC because it's about me. Which is really, really sad.
