Lifeguards live in a small world
My weekend was filled with moving activities, paying back a cup of borrowed karma by helping Kristpn and Leila move down the street. The most entertaining part involved a testosterone-laden trip to the Home Depot for futon parts. As places like that rarely if ever have exactly what one needs to reassemble furniture, I got to use my engineering skills to replace a load bearing piece of plastic with a cleverly crafted stack of washers held together by a bolt. I was quite proud of myself. Their new place has a front porch that is remarkably comfortable for sitting and relaxing, not to mention firework watching and pizza eating. The 4th of whatever month this is was spent doing just that.
Doug has lost his FFVII saved games, including the one with the golden chocobo where he was nearly powerful enough to take on the Ruby and Emerald Weapons. I weep for him and his loss.
The smell of cigar smoke makes me sick to my stomach. That, of course, doesn't stop ole' Galoob from bringing his work to Casey's birthday at Tapwerks. I've gotten over the smell only shortly after having gotten over the hangover.
The EU parliament rejected US-style software patents by an overwhelming majority. Yay!
The first thing I remember, I was lying in my bed.

Oh wow. Poor, poor Doug. Should we have an intervention?
