The baffled king composing
My dreams seem to build on one another. Several weeks ago, I had a dream where I was at what appeared to be a Target in a strip mall and looked through several designs for T-shirts sporting Gundam Wing characters and phrases. I decided I really liked one of them, but that I would come back later when I had more money for clothing (which is what I generally do in real life, and then never decide that I want more clothing). Last night (or more like this early afternoon) I dreamed I went back to that store and tried to find the shirt that I had liked so I could buy it. After searching the entire display area where the Gundam T-shirts were in little cubes, I went to find the manager, a large African-American man named Otis (I could read his nametag). He had me follow him around the store, including through a stage area, and through every other department in Target, all selling T-shirts, before we both decided that they just quit selling that particular design since then. I was disappointed, but found a Christmas present idea for my brother in another part of the store, so the trip wasn't a whole loss.
I'm feeling parenthetical today.
Mix toe-pinching, 30-year-old gay men discussing my marriage, a womun who knows "ennui," and really tasty pasta salad and you have one of the craziest weekends I've had in a long time.
The Mike Hosty Duo/Trio is a really good local band. Randy's M&M has their CD for sale. I suggest you give them a try at one of their many local engagements. They are in Oregon until the end of the month, but I will be sure to catch them once they get back. Seriously, only truly great bands have songs about Chewbacca. (Nerf Herder anyone?)
What a wookie!

My brain plays reruns for me sometimes. They're like those comfortable movies that I've seen a million times on Saturday afternoons and the 3 or 4 episodes of that sitcom I really like. They're not scary or even really meaningful; most of the time the dreams don't even include me. I know the plots by now, but they are enjoyable feel-good dreams so I don't mind.
I guess my brain just gets bored with coming up with new content so often.
