Intrigue giveth and the tax man taketh away
Yesterday, my 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue passed 88888 miles as I was driving to class. I love that number, since it uses 100% of the available LEDs to send its long-traveled information to my eyes. I like how it lets me know that the whole odometer is working. I took the opportunity to get an oil change, and figure out what all will need to be done to the car to make sure it will get to Nawlins and back. Looks like I should replace the brake pads (which I've been meaning to for a couple of months now), the serpentine belt, and swap out the air filters. Shouldn't be more than $100. I was amazed when the kids down at my local Jiffy Lube actually got the "Change Oil" light to turn off. I haven't started up the car with a happy dashboard since I bought it, which is not fair to a car I've been so very happy with. It's definitely #2 on the list of cars I've ever owned, right behind The Oldsmobile (moment of silence.......ok) as far as automotive loves of my short life.
Speak of loving cars in a short life, it's CB's birthday today. Everyone wish him a bittersweet one, as this one marks the passing of his teenage years. Certainly something that we will all have to mourn by dressing in black and singing dirges while sipping Black Velvet. I'm all emo inside.
Went and paid my taxes today. Owed $49 to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, and I'm getting $78 from the Fed. The magic of subtraction would seem to indicate that I'm clearing a whopping $29. It'll be dinner on me when I get that back, let me tell you. Probably Denny's.
This Cherry Coke tastes suspiciously like bacon.

I had bacon at lunch today. Its all-day breakfast buffet at the cafeteria, which is always a joyous occassion.
