Senate card Monte
For the first time since I noticed that people were putting up signs at all, I found myself someone actually calling themselves a demmy-crat. It'll take me a little while to figure out if I'm capable of being all the way for this Monte Johnson character, but so far he's head and shoulders above that nutty old Kirk Humphreys. It's only kind of creepy that he's a minister, but it's even creepier that Duke has a Masters of Divinity program. First, though, I have to figure out who all is running against him for U.S. Senate, and who all I'm endorsing for Oklahoma State Senate. Lots and lots of candidates to sort through in the beginning of July. Hopefully all the hundreds and hundreds of road-side signs, flyers, and brochures mailed to me advertising conservative values, death penalties, pre-emptive wars without any backing, and the mandatory imposition of a Christian morality on what is quite comfortably a sectarian recognition of relationships will split the vote of my Republican neighbors like so many banana and ice cream filled desserts, and the elephant will wind up with someone wholly unelectable, like what happened in Chicago.
Very excited about some of the rulings that came down today and last week. I'm going home to read some of the more interesting ones, and feel politically conscious, but merely disempowered by capital.
ADD to me means you don't have to ask me why.
