Have you been on fire?
Patrick turned 19 this weekend, and the nice quite get-together that celebrated it was puncuated by the new inclusion of 11 (amended) commandments that require people to lock and unlock the door hundreds of times throughout the night, prevent those who have never been aflame from entering, and keeps those without weapons from speaking to those with weapons. Among the boisterous party-goers was a young womun whose general hotness and appreciation of flirting brought both Patrick and me back to earlier years. Too bad she's married, and I'm not a terrible person.
I love Christmas, so when the West Wing, still good even in reruns, shows an episode featuring snow and caroling, it's bound to be spectacular, and it was. The kind of character development that investigates Toby's protectionist attitude with his kids and juxtaposes it with the distancing that he has done with his own father is the kind of stuff that brings a tear to my eye. If only KWTV could figure out how to pause the tape for the sever weather updates. KFOR has been doing it for as long as I have been watching Trek (far too long). Oh yeah, and Janel looked really good in a sweater at the end. Only she could take something that soccer mom and make it hot.
The Supreme Court handed down a 5-4 ruling today that would have directly impacted me last week. From now on, if the cops have Terry stopped you for "reasonable suspicion" of wrongdoing, they can demand your identification, and if you refuse, can arrest you for it. I'm not all that sure how I feel about this, but I think I may actually start wandering around without any ID for a little while while I figure it out.
It's hard to eat when you're head-banging.
