Wednesday night TV time
Tonight I gave another chance to one of my deepest loves: Star Trek. I watched (read "forced myself to sit through") an episode of Enterprise on UPN. It was gawd-awful. The characters felt like they were just walking through their lines, everything smelled contrived, and even Scott Bakula's (Sam Beckett forever!) upwards-of-decent acting couldn't make his pissy stare-down with the Andorian captain seem any more legitimate. I spent the entire episode wondering where Picard was, and why diplomacy hadn't been considered since the treaty was signed with the Dominion at the end of DS9. Yep, Voyager and Enterprise are both on my angry list still. Oh, and I love Jeffrey Combs, really I do, but as soon as I hear his ridiculously identifiable voice, I know there's evil afoot. 5 Weyouns, Brunt, and now the racist Andorian captian later, I'm thinking typecast, even in Trek.
OK, enough with the nerdy. Well, almost.
West Wing was awesome as usual, even with the change in format. The documentary about the show has been done before but somehow Allison Janney still manages to pull it off. She was on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show (yes, he has one) talking about how sometimes Martin Sheen acts like he really is the President in airports and stuff. He's so good at it.
Strange how both Bakula and Janney were in my favoite movie of all time. Then again, not really strange at all.
